For the law was given through Moses, but God’s unfailing love and faithfulness came through Jesus Christ. No one has ever seen God. But the unique One, who is himself God, is near to the Father’s heart. He has revealed God to us. [John 1.17-18]
The Law or Jesus, the choice of which to follow is ours except that one choice yields eternal life and the other yields only rules that cannot redeem any fallen man.
Jesus is clearly the Way and He Himself said so.
It is revealing that John would record that Jesus is near to the Father's heart. We can see in the life of Jesus the heart of God. We can see in the life of Jesus the will of God. We can see in the life of Jesus the way we should live. We can see in the life of Jesus, God's will for us.
Father, thank You for sending Jesus. And, as I understand it, thank You for revealing Your commission for my life through the life of Jesus.
