He shows mercy from generation to generation to all who fear him. [Luke 1.50]
These words were spoken by Mary, mother of Jesus.
God has been known forever as merciful.
However, God's mercy has a contingency: repentance. "All who fear Him..." is the contingency for His generational mercy. "All who fear Him..." describes those who repent.
Father, help us to see how merciful You really are. But help us to know with all confidence that our fear of You will always lead us to repentance.
