There were 44,760 capable warriors in the armies of Reuben, Gad, and the half-tribe of Manasseh. They were all skilled in combat and armed with shields, swords, and bows. They waged war against the Hagrites, the Jeturites, the Naphishites, and the Nodabites. They cried out to God during the battle, and he answered their prayer because they trusted in him. So the Hagrites and all their allies were defeated. [1 Chronicles 5.18-20]
As a matter of fact...
Do I trust God as a matter of fact?
The truth is, I trust in a lot of stuff - things, people - but somehow my "trust in God" is isolated to an altogether different category that, frankly, is more of an "emergency" go-to than it is a first line of defense.
This has to change. How can I think I am seeking God first if I trust Him last? Not possible.
Father, forgive me for my unfaithfulness. Forgive me for my indoctrination in the world and its solutions as my go-to for help. Forgive me for not trusting You FIRST.
