Joyful are people of integrity, who follow the instructions of the LORD. [Psalm 119.1]
If we would just obey!
It is worth pointing out here that faith is obedience. Believing that Jesus died for the world's sin is an act of obedience. Doing the works Jesus said we would do is an act of obedience too.
“I tell you the truth, anyone who believes in me will do the same works I have done, and even greater works, because I am going to be with the Father. [John 14-12]
In fact, James said that faith is "dead" without works:
So you see, faith by itself isn’t enough. Unless it produces good deeds, it is dead and useless. [James 2-17]
How much joy would it bring to our lives if we walked in the power of God and actually did the works of Jesus in the earth today?
Father, forgive me for all the powerless religion I have promoted with no power, no works, instead of living like Jesus instructed.
