Lord, your discipline is good, for it leads to life and health. You restore my health and allow me to live! Yes, this anguish was good for me, for you have rescued me from death and forgiven all my sins. [Isaiah 38.16-17]
Very clearly it is pointed out that God's discipline comes in the forms of death and sickness. Hezekiah's sickness was from God - the scriptures are clear. Hezekiah's healing was from God - the scriptures are clear.
The anguish of Hezekiah's sickness caused him to repent - so it was good for him. And, when Hezekiah genuinely repented, God healed him by forgiving him.
It just could not be much clearer than this.
Father, help me to see clearly...
