Listen! The LORD’s arm is not too weak to save you, nor is his ear too deaf to hear you call. It’s your sins that have cut you off from God. Because of your sins, he has turned away and will not listen anymore. Your hands are the hands of murderers, and your fingers are filthy with sin. Your lips are full of lies, and your mouth spews corruption. [Psalm 59.1-3]
Does it seem like God is not answering prayer? Does it seem like the heavens are brass - unyielding to please from earth?
There is a solution: repent.
"But I/we have not done anything wrong!"
Oh, but haven't we? Who is the clay to question or doubt the potter? Can a anyone claim his or her own wicked and deceitful heart is pure? If that which is described as punishment for sin is upon us, then who are we to say it is not punishment for sin? It doesn't require religion to explain our adverse circumstances! It requires repentance to deliver us from our them!
Oh that we would get it! Oh that we would simply become repentant before our God (instead of religious)!
Father, forgive me for being so religious and unrepentant!
