The LORD says, “I was ready to respond, but no one asked for help. I was ready to be found, but no one was looking for me. I said, ‘Here I am, here I am!’ to a nation that did not call on my name. [Isaiah 65.1]
Oh wow, would it not be terrible to have the above verse said about us? To find out God was always waiting for us as a nation to call out to Him, but we never did, would be a tragedy.
But is that exactly what we are doing? The sad truth of the matter is that 'religion' today, by and large, has left off repenting before God and instead attempted to convince its participants that 'heaven is coming' and that the misery and hardships of this life are just to be endured.
The problem is, the misery and hardships of this life are all the result of sin (read Deuteronomy 28 about the curses upon sin) and indicate the need for repentance. If we embrace our 'punishment' as anything less that God's call to repentance - God's call saying, "Here I am, here I am..." - then we have become the nation that did not call on His name!
God help us!
Father, I want to be repentant before You always. Help me to get the message of repentance out to a nation that is not looking for You...
