Party On! (NOT)

The LORD of Heaven’s Armies has revealed this to me: “Till the day you die, you will never be forgiven for this sin.” That is the judgment of the Lord, the LORD of Heaven’s Armies. [Isaiah 22.14]

Wow, what was it that had God this upset?

Unrepentance.

Here is what was said immediately before the verse above:

At that time the Lord, the LORD of Heaven’s Armies, called you to weep and mourn. He told you to shave your heads in sorrow for your sins and to wear clothes of burlap to show your remorse. But instead, you dance and play; you slaughter cattle and kill sheep. You feast on meat and drink wine. You say, “Let’s feast and drink, for tomorrow we die!” [Isaiah 22.12-13]

You see, Jerusalem (to whom this prophecy was directed), should have been repenting, but they were partying instead.

There is great spiritual sickness - sin - rampant in much of the world today. God's promise to forgive, heal, and restore stands to all (individuals, cities, states, nations) who will humble themselves and pray and seek God's face.

But repentance is the last thing on most people's minds. Precursor warnings from God, unusual weather, earthquakes, etc. are being ignored - passed off as 'natural' phenomena or the abuse by man that is correctable by man. ...and the party continues.

Father, please forgive me for partying on when I should be repenting!
