King Jotham became powerful because he was careful to live in obedience to the LORD his God. [2 Chronicles 27.6]
Does obedience to God have benefits? Yes.
There is power available to those who are genuinely faithful to God. The verse above says it clearly.
It is becoming much more my conclusion that if we reverse-engineer 2 Chronicles 27.6, we can all conclude that if there is no power in our lives, then we have not been careful to live in obedience to God (including the obedience of faith).
If we are to look and act like Jesus in the world today (and we are supposed to), then we should be walking in power. Jesus' three years of ministry proved that power accompanied Him. Jesus scolded His followers when they did not operate in power (ie. faith).
I know we all think we are living in obedience to God. However, if there is no power coming from our lives, should we not re-consider?
Father, once again, I am convicted by the lack of power in my life. Help me to grow in obedience and faith!
