This disaster came upon the people of Israel because they worshiped other gods. They sinned against the LORD their God, who had brought them safely out of Egypt and had rescued them from the power of Pharaoh, the king of Egypt. [2 Kings 17.7]
The disaster? Assyria conquered and displaced Israel.
Why? Because Israel worshiped other gods than the LORD God Almighty. They sinned against God Who had done so much for them.
Solution? Repentance.
Subsequent problem: No one wants to repent.
Result? Continued curses with every explanation in the world except that God has been betrayed.
Remedy? Repentance.
As I consider all the problems the United States of America faces today, there is only one real solution to our dilemma: repentance. There is only one God Who blessed this nation into existence and now He is being mocked in the streets by people whose "pride" has resulted in their social and sexual perversion. There is nothing in the Bible that leads me to believe there is anything but disaster ahead for the USA. To disobey is unacceptable. To reject God's Word is serious. To shake a fist at the Creator of the Universe is the invitation to disaster. For sexual deviants to mock the Son of God in the streets is the sign that disaster has begun (it's not going to begin, it HAS begun).
Be sure of this: sexual deviation is a sin "in the closet."
But fear this: When sexual sins come "out of the closet," the curse of sexual deviation has begun! (Romans 1)
America, wake up! Repent!
Father, be merciful to our nation as this judgment unfolds upon us. We deserve it because we have become openly "proud" in ourselves and made idols unto ourselves in our advancements, knowledge, and technology. We have determined what's best for us based on our "heart" instead of Your Word. We have become consumed with ourselves, and now, our "proud" hearts' wicked desires are consuming us. We are even calling it PRIDE and have dedicated a month to celebrate it. Forgive us, Father God, we need You!
