Human Thinking

But David said to Recab and Baanah, “The LORD, who saves me from all my enemies, is my witness. Someone once told me, ‘Saul is dead,’ thinking he was bringing me good news. But I seized him and killed him at Ziklag. That’s the reward I gave him for his news! How much more should I reward evil men who have killed an innocent man in his own house and on his own bed? Shouldn’t I hold you responsible for his blood and rid the earth of you?” [2 Samuel 4.9-11]

I am certain that Recab and Baanah thought they were doing the right thing by David to kill Ishbosheth.

But, therein lies the problem with human thinking, sometimes it betrays us greatly.

Unless we are led by the Spirit of God, we are likely to make bad decisions. Oh, those decisions might look and sound great at first, but, in the end, the absence of the Spirit's input will be obvious as our decisions will end in tragedy.

The point is, we need the LORD's guidance in every decision we make.

Father, I want to be led by You - Your Holy Spirit - and the life of Jesus.
