Glorify God!

But David persisted. “I have been taking care of my father’s sheep and goats,” he said. “When a lion or a bear comes to steal a lamb from the flock, I go after it with a club and rescue the lamb from its mouth. If the animal turns on me, I catch it by the jaw and club it to death. I have done this to both lions and bears, and I’ll do it to this pagan Philistine, too, for he has defied the armies of the living God! The LORD who rescued me from the claws of the lion and the bear will rescue me from this Philistine!” Saul finally consented. “All right, go ahead,” he said. “And may the LORD be with you!” [1 Samuel 17.34-37]

There is so much to be learned from this passage quoting David.

What stands out to me today is that David spoke his testimony about what God had done in his life and, used it to encourage himself and those around him that God would continue to work in and through his life!

It is just that simple.

But, here is the deal, David risked his very life to build, and continue to build, his testimony.

The point is, as long as we are compelled to preserve our own lives, we are not likely to build any kind of testimony that glorifies God. And, if we are not glorifying God, we are out of God's will.

Father, I want to glorify You.
