And as we live in God, our love grows more perfect. So we will not be afraid on the day of judgment, but we can face him with confidence because we live like Jesus here in this world. [1 John 4.17]
Being afraid on the day of judgment doesn't sound very appealing. I don't think anyone wants to live that way.
This problem can be avoided by one simple remedy: live like Jesus.
What disturbs me however is that we 'say,' "live like Jesus" but then are confused about how to do so. The reason this disturbs me is because we have four different accounts of the life of Jesus - how He lived, talked, and walked on the earth - but still we question how we should live, talk, and walk on the earth as if those four Gospels have taught us nothing at all!
What did Jesus do with those closest to Him? He taught them the deep things of God.
What did Jesus do with the multitudes? He taught them on topics sure to raise more questions and He fed them. He loved them
What did Jesus do with the sick? He healed them.
And yet, we have the audacity to question what God wants us to do???
Maybe we should be afraid on the day of judgment!!!!
Father, I want to have all confidence as I come to You! I know I must live, talk , and walk like Jesus - like the Gospels teach me so clearly.
