A Confident Testimony

But Paul shook off the snake into the fire and was unharmed. [Acts 28.5]

It is a simple little sentence, but the implications of it are monumental!

Just like during the previous storm that landed Paul and his companions on Malta, Paul was not swayed by circumstances that would impede his trip in Rome.

When God has spoken to us, we can be confident in what He has said and that it will indeed come to pass.

Not sure God has spoken to you? Think again!

The Bible is brimming with promises made by God to those who are His own. Frankly, there are so many promises in the Bible that I don't feel compelled to have a 'personal Word from God' because the Bible IS that personal Word!

How confident I am in what God has said to me will be seen in me in the storms of life I encounter.

I will say that again:

How confident I am in what God has said to me will be seen in me in the storms of life I encounter!

If I KNOW God is for me, why would I ever get worried because circumstances threaten me?

If I KNOW God is my Healer, why would I ever dread a doctor's report?

If I KNOW God is my Provider, why would I ever hoard or be stingy?

I could go on...

I get the idea that Paul did not make a big deal of the snake biting him. Why would he if he was 100% confident he was going to Rome? Paul knew Who he was working for and knew that Who he was working for would sweat the details - even if it meant saving him from a deadly storm or a deadly snake bite.

What a testimony.

Father, help me to have a confident testimony before a watching world!
