Seek Truth

Pilate said, “So you are a king?” Jesus responded, “You say I am a king. Actually, I was born and came into the world to testify to the truth. All who love the truth recognize that what I say is true.” “What is truth?” Pilate asked. Then he went out again to the people and told them, “He is not guilty of any crime. [John 18.37-38]

What IS truth?

Truth is what God is. 

Truth is not what people think of God.

As long as there has been humanity, God's enemy has done nothing if he has not consistently lied about God and attempted with every effort to make man believe lies about God instead of the truth. It started in the Garden of Eden. It still very much continues today.

God's name and character are attacked every day. It is a sad fact that God's 'own people' are some of the greatest proponents of these attacks!

It is all very confusing, and rightly so, because the father of lies (as Jesus identified Satan) would have it no other way! But if God's people would settle in their hearts what they believe about God, much of the confusion would be dispelled by the light and truth of Who God Is!

God is NOT a murderer, thief, or destroyer. God is not a liar. And, until mankind believes this without wavering to any degree, other 'difficult' scriptures about God are bound to be interpreted incorrectly. Why? Because there is a murderer-thief-destroyer-liar out there who will stop at nothing to twist the truth about God just enough to make us believe something about God that is simply not true. That is exactly what took place in the Garden of Eden when Satan manipulated Adam and Eve with a skewed view of God.

The single greatest task of the Church today is to return to Truth. There is no other way to accomplish God's Kingdom purpose on the earth (as demonstrated in the life and ministry of Jesus) unless we are firmly fixed upon Truth. To "Seek first the Kingdom of God..." begins with an unmovable understanding of Who God Is. 

As long as the Church is uncertain whether God kills or gives life, gives or takes, creates or destroys, or tells the truth or lies, then the Church is hopeless to walk in confident faith in this life. And, if the Church is not walking in confident faith, the Church is sinning! Whatsoever is not of faith is sin. It is impossible to please God without faith.

Regardless what scenarios people attempt to paint about Jesus' ministry on earth, the BIBLE records NO INSTANCE that Jesus ever refused to help or heal anyone! Oh, to be sure, there is plenty to be 'read between the lines,' but 'reading between the lines' without a concrete foundational understanding of Who God Is is suicidal to God-pleasing faith! Half-truths are no truth at all! Satan is glorified in any 'modification' of God's character because, as in the Garden of Eden, half-truths set in motion a course of destruction!

We must return to the Truth. Jesus is the Truth. Jesus' life confirms God's character and even gives clearer definition of it! If we look carefully at Jesus, we will not miss God!

We need truth. Whether we defend the truth or not does not change it. We will each and every one stand responsible before God for the Truth.

Father help us to seek Truth!
