Every curse written against us in the Law of Moses has come true. Yet we have refused to seek mercy from the LORD our God by turning from our sins and recognizing his truth. [Daniel 9.13]
Now this confession will get results.
IF we will quit spiritualizing every bad thing in our lives and start instead to acknowledge that curses are the direct result of disobedience by turning from our sins and recognizing God's Truth, then we will see healing and relief from every curse.
To be clear, "turning from our sins and recognizing God's Truth" very much includes trusting Jesus. It is just as much a New Testament (Covenant) thing as it was an Old Testament (Covenant) thing!
One experiencing curses might argue, "I have not sinned and I trust in Jesus!" But that argument is contrary to all that the Bible teaches! Just because one declares himself righteous and faithful does not make him righteous and faithful! The Bible says the heart is deceitful and desperately wicked and no man can know it - so how can one definitively say, "I have no sin"?
“The human heart is the most deceitful of all things, and desperately wicked. Who really knows how bad it is? [Jeremiah 17.9]
Who can say, “I have cleansed my heart; I am pure and free from sin”? [Proverbs 20.9]
If we claim we have no sin, we are only fooling ourselves and not living in the truth. [1 John 1.8]
There is room for repentance today. We have no idea what it is like to dedicate time and energy to repentance! We would rather read books that console us that our sufferings are God's way of making us better instead of warning us that we are in error and need to change!
God help us!
Father, I don't know my own heart, but You do. Please forgive me for all the wickedness in me - including my proud tendencies to deny wickedness in me!
