God Is Good

Nevertheless, the time will come when I will heal Jerusalem’s wounds and give it prosperity and true peace. [Jeremiah 33.6]

In today's OYCB reading, Jerusalem is about to fall to the Babylonians. And yet, in the face of this tragedy, God is making the promise above.

That is just like God. He is good and His faithful love endures forever.

Yes, God is just. Yes, God punishes sin. Yes, God is holy. But we must always remain mindful that God is merciful. God is good.

Oh to be sure, we should never presume upon God's mercy. However, we must understand that God's love compels Him to constantly seek relationship with us. And, He desires that we return that love.

The Bible thoroughly reveals God love for His creation.

Father, thank You for Who You are. I am just a man, but I wan to be found returning Your love every day I live.
