God Does Not Want Us To Die

I don’t want you to die, says the Sovereign LORD. Turn back and live! [Ezekiel 18.32]

Here is yet a little further insight into the character of God. He does not want us to die.

God does not want us to die.

God does not want us to die.

God does not want us to die.

GOD DOES NOT WANT US TO DIE!

God wants us to live. Jesus said it like this:

The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life. [John 10.10]

There is much for us to understand here. Far too long we have been programmed to think otherwise about God - but that programming is the cunning work of a deceiver! We must recall that the very first account of the enemy in the Bible was the story of Adam and Eve. That story showcased what would be Satan's modus operandi for ages to follow: he questioned God's character, "Has God really said...?"

The lies of the enemy have persisted even until today. He wants us to question the character of God.

We must combat Satan's lies with Truth. The Truth - Jesus - is our only hope! Jesus came and showed us not only the Way to God, but, according to John 14, Jesus showed us God! And, what did Jesus (showing us God) do? He healed the sick and raised the dead and preached a message of repentance!

Jesus replied, “Have I been with you all this time, Philip, and yet you still don’t know who I am? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father! So why are you asking me to show him to you? Don’t you believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? The words I speak are not my own, but my Father who lives in me does his work through me. Just believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me. Or at least believe because of the work you have seen me do. [John 14.9-11]

How much plainer can it get?

Death and all its progressions (sickness and disease) have, and never will be, God's will. Prove it? Heaven. But even before heaven, we see that God would not allow a sick person in His Temple. Why is that? Because sickness, disease, and resulting death represent unholiness - sin - and unholiness cannot come before God - He will not allow it - He will not even look at it!

Sickness, disease and death are all the result of sin. Sin is the fertile ground in which sickness, disease and death grow and thrive. Repentance is the only cure. Faith in Jesus fulfills that repentance because Jesus "paid it all" on behalf of all who believe.

God does not want us to die. That is why He sent Jesus.

Satan wants us to die. That is why he constantly lies to us about ourselves and God. He tries to convince us that God wants us to die and he tries to convince us that the death we experience is not the result of sin. In other words, he feeds our pride.

We have to choose moment by moment whom we will believe - God or the devil.

Father, it becomes clearer to me by the day that You are good and Your faithful love endures forever! As Jesus' life on earth showed You to the world, so let my life on earth show Jesus to the world!
