Who Is God?

Are you [the LORD] not the same today, the one who dried up the sea, making a path of escape through the depths so that your people could cross over? [Isaiah 51.10]

Now here is a scriptural prayer to bring to God!

I continue to believe two things are absolute necessities to walking in God's blessings: repentance and knowing God for Who He is.

Repentance should be a given. But its not. However, I have discussed this at length elsewhere.

Knowing God is something that needs further consideration. First, how do we know God? His Word - the Bible - is the foundation for knowing God. Throughout history, ignorance of God has been man's downfall - beginning with Adam and Eve. They knew what God said, but, for whatever reason, they allowed a lie to cloud their understanding of God. And where did that lie come from? NOT from God! So, we need first to know what God has said. We then need to preserve what God has said in our hearts. Then, we need to categorically reject any and all other voices that cause doubt. Period.

Who is God? Well, for starters, He is the Creator of the universe! But also, as noted above, He is the Parter of the Red Sea! And, what is critical that we understand is that He has not changed, but remains the same!

Father, are you not the same today, the one who dried up the sea, making a path of escape through the depths so that your people could cross over? Look upon my current situation and help me to see You for Who You Are in what You do!
