God Is My Help

I look up to the mountains—does my help come from there? My help comes from the LORD, who made heaven and earth! [Psalm 121.1-2]

God is my help. Not my strength. Not my bank account. Not my insurance. Not my intelligence. Not my doctors. Not my job. Not my house. Not my weapons. Not my preparations. Not my family. Not my government.

Father, forgive me for looking to the plethora of other things in my life that compete for my dependence. Forgive me for turning to these things first - for thinking of these things first when help is needed.
