And so the Lord says, “These people say they are mine. They honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. And their worship of me is nothing but man-made rules learned by rote. [Isaiah 29.13]
It frightens me that this may describe the Church today more than we think. As it should, these words should make us shudder in consideration of our probability of hearing these damning words from God, "Depart from Me, I never knew you!"
This is the fear of the LORD.
Father, I believe it is right that we fear You - the One who can destroy both body and soul in hell.
