Do You Believe?

But you don’t believe me because you are not my sheep. [John 10.26]

Want a tough "piece of bread" to chew on?

Jesus made a statement here that reveals more than we who call ourselves Christians (Christ-like) would like for it to reveal.

We often complain to ourselves about our lack of faith. We lament, we feel sorry, we wish for better, we have regrets and we suffer sickness and hardships because our faith is insufficient to overcome these things.

But Jesus said our lack of faith is tied to our lack of relationship with Him. He said we don't believe because we are not His.

I believe the greatest and most overlooked sign of the condition of the church today is our failure to look like Jesus in the earth.

The works of Jesus are the sign of His position with God.

The works of Jesus are the sign of our relationship with Him.

My personal belief, at this point in my life and spiritual growth, is that our faith doesn't look like Jesus-on-earth because we have failed to include true and ongoing repentance as part of our devotion.

We should repent of our unbelief evidenced by the lack of Jesus-like signs in our lives.

Father, I am going to stop here. Please forgive me that I do not look like Jesus here on earth. Forgive me for my lack of faith - faith in You and particularly, faith in Jesus. This lack of faith is an indicator of my lack of relationship, and, for that, I repent. I want to turn to You - to Jesus - and believe - every day for the rest of my life.
