He [Josiah] gave justice and help to the poor and needy, and everything went well for him. Isn’t that what it means to know me?” says the LORD. [Jeremiah 22.16]
What does it mean to know God?
The answer is in two parts:
- It means giving justice and help to the poor and needy.
- It means everything going well for us.
So, here is something we can learn. If everything is not going well for us, perhaps - just perhaps - we should consider our treatment of the poor and needy!
Could it be that simple?
Father, I love it when You so clearly explain things. I know it must grieve Your heart though when we try to over-complicate things and ignore the obvious.
