As all the men of Judah stood before the Lord with their little ones, wives, and children, the Spirit of the Lord came upon one of the men standing there. His name was Jahaziel son of Zechariah, son of Benaiah, son of Jeiel, son of Mattaniah, a Levite who was a descendant of Asaph. [2 Chronicles 20.13-14]
I just had to make another little post today regarding the passage above.
This event is when Jehoshaphat and Judah were being attacked by the armies of the Moabites, Ammonites, and some of the Meunites.
As much as I would love to talk about all that took place, I simply want to point out something I had never realized before that I saw today for the first time ever.
The guy who spoke above, Jahaziel, was a descendant of Asaph. Asaph was a Levite of the musical order - he was a leader among the Levitical musicians.
Is it any wonder then, that Jehoshaphat put the musicians and singers out front (in what would go down in history as a phenomenal military victory)?
What a great discussion for worship teams and music people in the Church!
Father, thank You for allowing me to finally see that this victory for Jehoshaphat was a long time in coming!
