Psalm 34.
For all that Psalm 34 says to encourage us that God will take care of and provide for us, what does it say otherwise?
Few of us ever really consider ALL the implications of promises like those found in Psalm 34. In other words, we read and absorb all we can about the good promises, but fail miserably to accurately estimate what troubles in our lives mean. What I am saying is that we always want the blessings, but rarely ever consider we might be in sin if those blessings are not present in our lives.
It is pretty simple.
For anyone who would now accuse me of presenting "Old Testament" and failing to recognize Jesus, consider this: the outcome of "works" (Old Testament) or "faith" (New Testament) are the same: blessings. Disobedience and doubt yield the same outcome: "not" blessings.
Father, help us to consider the obvious signs in our lives of Your blessings or lack thereof. Help us not only consider, but also to respond correctly.
