Discrepancies or Consistencies?

Then the angel spoke to the women. “Don’t be afraid!” he said. “I know you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He isn’t here! He is risen from the dead, just as he said would happen. Come, see where his body was lying. And now, go quickly and tell his disciples that he has risen from the dead, and he is going ahead of you to Galilee. You will see him there. Remember what I have told you.” [Matthew 28.5-7]

He is risen... just as He said would happen.

You know, there are differences in presentation among the four Gospels in some details of Jesus' life. I suppose we could get upset with those differences and make a big fuss over them. Or, we could accept the differences for what they are, and focus mainly on the similarities: namely, that Jesus predicted His own death and resurrection.

Somehow today, I feel like there is a life lesson here for all. Perhaps we spend too much time fretting over discrepancies in our lives when we should be focusing on the consistencies.

Hmmm.

Father, help me to consider today what is consistent in my life and relationship with You. It matters that the Bible states You are never changing...
