The Holy Spirit Commercialized

And give these rebels, the people of Israel, this message from the Sovereign LORD: O people of Israel, enough of your detestable sins! You have brought uncircumcised foreigners into my sanctuary—people who have no heart for God. In this way, you defiled my Temple even as you offered me my food, the fat and blood of sacrifices. In addition to all your other detestable sins, you have broken my covenant. Instead of safeguarding my sacred rituals, you have hired foreigners to take charge of my sanctuary. [Ezekiel 44.6-8]

In keeping with my direction from yesterday about the correlation of the Temple and the Holy Spirit, today's  reading brought up an interesting topic. We find this directive to disallow outsiders from entering the Temple. This directive certainly raises some contemporary thought  to the practice of mixing "sacred rituals" of the Holy Spirit with unholy practices of the world.

I am really not sure if what I am thinking here carries any truth or not - but I believe it is worth keeping an eye open for as my journey encounters illustrations of the Temple (that seem to be so painstakingly detailed when presented).

Has the Church made the Holy Spirit (a Gift given to believers) too readily available and on display to the world? Have we commercialized the Holy Spirit?

Father, give me eyes to see, ears to hear, and a heart to understand the correlation between the Temple and Your Holy Spirit.
