“I looked for someone who might rebuild the wall of righteousness that guards the land. I searched for someone to stand in the gap in the wall so I wouldn’t have to destroy the land, but I found no one. [Ezekiel 22.30]
God's will is never to bring punishment. His will is obedience. And, even when people sin against Him, He seeks an advocate for them.
It is God's character to be patient and long-suffering. He is always seeking the best for His people.
In the verse above, we clearly see God's mercy in looking for someone who would intercede for His wayward people. He is not quick to punish, but slow to anger.
So, how important is it that we today take the position of an intercessor? I say, very important.
Father, help me to understand more fully today the importance of my intercession for others.
