Dare To Hope

The thought of my suffering and homelessness is bitter beyond words. I will never forget this awful time, as I grieve over my loss. Yet I still dare to hope when I remember this: The faithful love of the Lord never ends! His mercies never cease. Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each morning. [Lamentations 3 19-23]

With all the complaining and declaration of death and loss and destruction of Lamentations, the passage above lies hidden like a gem.

Jeremiah is giving us perhaps one of the most profound revelations of God's character found in the Bible.

Even in our worst situation, if we remain mindful of what Lamentations 3.19-23 says, we are not without hope!

How good He is!

Father, on this day I will hope in Your dependable character as it is portrayed by Jeremiah in Lamentations 3.19-23. I find great hope in You - in Who You Are!
