Yahweh Is His Name

I am the LORD; that is my name! I will not give my glory to anyone else, nor share my praise with carved idols. [Isaiah 42.8]

There it is, God's name and we totally miss it! "LORD" is used in the context and only those paying attention will recognize that His name is Yahweh!

Yahweh is proud of His name. It means something to Him and it means something to us if we will only acknowledge it!

Yet, for some strange reason, Bible authorities still think it is necessary to mask all the places in the Bible where the Hebrew word "Yahweh" is used with the English word, LORD. It is my opinion that we have missed much of the gist of 'what's in a name' by doing so.

Anyone following my blog over the last many months will have noticed by now that I have begun to use His name, Yahweh, more and more. In the context of the Bible, God's name means something to Him, so I think in the context of my life, it means something to me! Yahweh is His name!

Father, I am privileged to call You, "Father." However, I am humbled to understand that Your name is Yahweh. Help me to progressively understand more of what Your name means as I journey on with You!
