Teach us to realize the brevity of life, so that we may grow in wisdom. [Psalm 90.12]
Life is short.
I remember the days of my youth when it seemed all of life before me was overwhelmingly far away. And here I sit, currently at 55 years of age, wondering how I got this far this fast.
According to the verse above, my realization of how quickly life passes is the soil in which wisdom grows.
So, when I have these moments of realization, I would do well to watch out for wisdom to grow in me.
Father, help me to grow in wisdom as I consider how short life really us.
