The Goal Is The Kingdom

And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him. [Hebrews 11.6]

Is this not exactly what Jesus said in Matthew 6.33 when He said to "seek first the Kingdom of God ... and all these things shall be added unto you..."?

Seeking God first in all things IS FAITH! Seeking God first in all things means we are ignoring all other data and staying focused that we are part of and serve in an unseen Kingdom. Seeking God first leaves the details of our own sustenance up to our Great High Priest Jesus.

Interestingly enough, God only rewards those who sincerely seek Him. To sincerely seek God, one cannot be worried about the reward as doing so distracts from seeking God! It would seem that 'greater faith' is demonstrated when one continues to pursue the Kingdom in spite of every concern for self-preservation that would say to do otherwise!

It is imperative to remember that the end goal for Christ followers is NOT FAITH! The goal is THE KINGDOM! Genuine faith that pleases God is not demonstrated in merely "exercising faith" but in pursuing the Kingdom - in seeking first the Kingdom of God! Faith is the tool God provided us so that we might seek Him - there is no other 'tool' that allows us to please God. Pleasing God is sincerely seeking Him (His Kingdom) and this task is impossible without faith.

Father, my mind races to consider all the implications of seeking Your Kingdom first. Help me to stop considering all theses implications and simply start seeking Your Kingdom first - for I know then I will be truly walking in faith and pleasing to You!
