The blessing of the Lord makes a person rich, and he adds no sorrow with it. [Proverbs 10.22]
So, what does one do with this verse?
Is it safe to conclude that if it is the blessing of the LORD that makes one rich, then it is the curse of the LORD that makes one poor?
Is it safe to conclude that if it is the blessing of the LORD that makes one glad, then it is the curse of the LORD that makes one sorrowful?
Is it better then to be rich and happy than poor and sad? It would sure seem that way!
Father, there is so much I don't understand. My religious education tells me something different than my conclusions here. I have been exposed to years of explanations as to why the natural face-value understanding of verses like Proverbs 10.22 are incorrect. But I feel like I have been deceived. Help me sort this out with the help and guidance of Your Spirit.
