Who Will Protect Us?

I come to you for protection, O Lord my God. [Psalm 7.1a]

I can relate to this request of David today.

Frankly, we can all relate to this if only we will.

If the LORD is not our protector, then who is?  Will we protect ourselves?  Will our government protect us?  Who will protect us?

I would hate to think I did not have the LORD to turn to.  I completely understand all the people who do not wish to believe in God as there so many problems associated with faith in such a realistic world.  

However, as I consider a life without God - without faith, I then wonder what hope there is in that condition?  What is there to look forward to?  What is a single other living soul really worth in that condition except to benefit me (from the perspective of one without God)?

Some of the protection I go to God for, is protection from myself!

Father, You are my protector.  You save me from wicked schemes and schemers - including myself!
