However, no one knows the day or hour when these things will happen, not even the angels in heaven or the Son himself. Only the Father knows. [Mark 13.32]
As a bit of follow-up to yesterday's post, I found today that Jesus brought some clarity to the questionable statement I highlighted yesterday. Even though Jesus said before that "this generation would not pass until these things come to pass..." now He is further explaining that no one, including Himself, knows when this age will end.
I admit, yesterday I struggled with the statement by Jesus that gave the idea that something was awry as far as information goes. But as the conversation continued (as portrayed in today's OYCB reading), Jesus clearly explained that the timing for His return is unknown by all.
Father, help me to get the daily lessons available to me from the Bible. But also, help me to not lose sight of the big picture - the ongoing story of Your love and redemption of mankind.
