The One Year Chronological Bible reading today was mostly genealogy. It is difficult to ascertain a life lesson from genealogy although I am sure there is something to be learned from it...
One thing is that people live and then they die. This pattern has been in place since the beginning of time.
It is so easy to breeze through reading all the names and descendants of a particular person and his clan while never considering the emotions and lives of these people. They were in fact real people with real relationships and stories.
Father, help me to be more sensitive when I read through the various genealogies of the Bible - and not just because it is the Bible, but because they were people just like me.
