"Unless your faith is firm, I cannot make you stand firm.” [Isaiah 7.9c]
I find the truth of this statment to be almost overwhelming.
The LORD was speaking to Ahaz here and basically put the burden of the situation upon Ahaz's shoulders... the burden of faith, that is.
Letting someone do something can be as difficult a task as doing it oneself. The commitment to relinquish control can be a daunting task all by itself!
The strange thing is, faith is not works, but it is indeed something to be done! Perhaps it could be said that, although faith is not works, it is still work!
The effort to believe forever remains the believers' task. Faith is not for lazy people!
Father thank You for helping me to see today that faith is work and is not for lazy people!
