If God Were Present...

The Lord said to Moses, “Warn your brother, Aaron, not to enter the Most Holy Place behind the inner curtain whenever he chooses; if he does, he will die.  For the Ark’s cover—the place of atonement—is there, and I myself am present in the cloud above the atonement cover. [Leviticus 16.2]
No kidding, the protocol and regulations regarding the Tabernacle were serious.  God certainly took it seriously and He expected everyone else to take it seriously as well.  The upside of all these rules and procedures however is that they stand as evidence of God's presence and interaction with His people.
I find it baffling sometimes to consider that with all this evidence of God and His power all around them, the Israelites still turned away from God and disobeyed Him repeatedly.
So there goes my theory that if God's presence were more tangible today that I would be a better servant of His!
Father, I want to believe.  I want to please You by exercising faith and faithfulness.
