So David went to Baal-perazim and defeated the Philistines there. “The Lord did it!” David exclaimed. “He burst through my enemies like a raging flood!” So he named that place Baal-perazim (which means “the Lord who bursts through”). [II Samuel 5.20]
Baal-perazim means the Lord who bursts through. It seems odd to me that the word "Baal" would be used for God here!
I suppose however, a lot of people use the word God to mean many different things too.
Father, help me to consider Who You are and worship only You!
