Have you ever argued your case to someone only later to find out you were wrong? That is precisely what Jacob did today in defending his and his family's integrity to Laban when indeed his own wife Rachel had stolen Laban's idols. And how ironic is it that Jacob would defend himself based on God watching over him and his family when the accusation against them was theft of IDOLS!
Sometimes we don't have enough information - even about things "close to home". Sometimes we go off without our facts straight!
Father, help me to exercise due diligence when defending myself! Let me not bring shame to Your Name!
