Each of these living beings had six wings, and their wings were covered all over with eyes, inside and out. Day after day and night after night they keep on saying, “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God, the Almighty— the one who always was, who is, and who is still to come.” [Revelation 4.8]
So, what's going on around God all the time? I know we all have opinions about what we will do when we get in God's presence, but would it not be logical to deduce that we will join those is worshiping the Lord God Almighty? Or, will our heavenly lives serve a different (better?) purpose? Will we approach (as John apparently did) and observe? Will God speak to us? Will we speak to God?
I am aware there is a description being given by John of things to come. However, I am also interested in understanding the surroundings in which John's circumstances are unfolding. Are there details that give us insight into what to expect upon our own arrival in heaven?
No matter how much we modernize the Word of God, I think one thing remains unchanged - God is God and He alone sets the standard by which He is approached. It seems to me that that occasion will not occur apart from intense worship and focus on Him.
Father, I face pretty much the same dilemma every day - will I give You the time that is normal in an intimate relationship with You? Or will I determine myself what is acceptable in my devotion to You?
