Mind Maze

Well then, if we emphasize faith, does this mean that we can forget about the law? Of course not! In fact, only when we have faith do we truly fulfill the law. [Romans 3.31]

This is mind maze material! It is along the same lines of saying, "we would not know darkness unless we had an understanding of light..."

The Law is VERY necessary! Frankly, without it, faith has no real meaning. Unless the Law shows us how depraved we are, faith really has no significance for delivering us from that fate.

But, we must see the big picture! It all works together - over-emphasis on the Law denies Jesus. Over-emphasis on Jesus (strange as it may sound) is quite literally pointless without the Law. But, just as light ALWAYS overcomes darkness, so Jesus ALWAYS fulfils the Law. Groping around in the dark would be foolish after one has become acquainted with the light. And so, spending effort to obey the Law is ridiculous when one has become acquainted with Jesus.

Father, thank You for Jesus! YES! Forgive me for trying to comply with a set of rules that Jesus has already suffered the penalty for disobedience on my behalf!
