As was Paul’s custom, he went to the synagogue service, and for three Sabbaths in a row he used the Scriptures to reason with the people. He explained the prophecies and proved that the Messiah must suffer and rise from the dead. He said, “This Jesus I’m telling you about is the Messiah.” [Acts 17.2-3]
It is a pretty simple message really. All the OT writings and prophecies point to the Messiah. Jesus is the Messiah!
If we could take the OT and look for Jesus, perhaps then, we could gain a little better perspective for its purpose. Sometimes I am concerned that we dissect God's Word so much that we totally mutilate the message it carries.
Father, I want to look for and see Jesus in all the Bible.
