Pursuit of Blessing

Around midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening. Suddenly, there was a massive earthquake, and the prison was shaken to its foundations. All the doors immediately flew open, and the chains of every prisoner fell off! [Acts 16.25-26]

Paul and Silas were worshipping God openly. Other prisoners were directly affected by their worship. I am guessing that, if the worship itself hadn't caught the attention of the other prisoners, then, certainly the earthquake and their chains falling off DID!

How often would my devotion to God touch the lives of others if I would but only be faithful to that devotion myself? How much positive affect is brought upon the lives of those around me simply because they are in close proximity when God blesses me?

Father, I want to be increasingly more open about my relationship with You - in a way that brings positive influence to all who are around me. Help me to see my pursuit of blessing something that is not for my benefit alone but for the benefit of all who are around me as well!
