Everything Regardless of Anything

For all the glorious beginnings of David's life and career, the later years were riddled with "Jerry Springer stuff." It seems like that Bathsheba incident was a turning point. Even though David repented and got right with God, it seems the course of events in David's life simply never attained to the previous level.

Was it because God had not truly forgiven David? Or, was it because David had not truly accepted and walked in forgiveness?

We all tend to live out what we believe. We are self-fulfilling prophets in this sense. And, while humility is good, we must be sure to allow humility to run its full course in our lives by allowing it to take us not only TO the fact that we are worthless, but also past that fact and on to the status that we have in Christ - forgiven and made completely whole and clean.

It seems that David got stuck in the 'worthless' fact (therefore living it out) and failed to go beyond into the realm of forgiveness.

Or, perhaps I don't have a clue and David's life was going to turn to crap no matter what he did...

Father, I truly believe Jesus changes everything for us regardless of anything. Let my life reflect that understanding for all to see.
