It just seems there are no happy endings. Bummer. Gideon was part of some amazing history but immediately following his death things deteriorated rapidly. Gideon's son Abimelech murdered all but one of his brothers (some seventy individuals) so he could secure his place as leader. Now that's a legacy. Not.
