While he was still speaking to her, a messenger arrived from the home of Jairus, the leader of the synagogue. He told him, “Your daughter is dead. There’s no use troubling the Teacher now.” But when Jesus heard what had happened, he said to Jairus, “Don’t be afraid. Just have faith, and she will be healed.” [Luke 8.49-50]
There's that faith word again. Aren't we fortunate that we are not meant to take all this faith stuff seriously? Aren't we fortunate that faith is what we determine it is instead of what it is portrayed to be in the Bible?
Furthermore, I suppose we are double-blessed because Jesus removed the responsibility of the law from our lives and then we removed the responsibility of faith!
So now we accountable for nothing and may determine what our responsibilities are all by ourselves!
What a relief, huh?
NOT!
Father, help us to see how ridiculously pitiful our explanations are for not having faith. Help us to resolve - really go the distance - to let faith truly be faith in and through our lives!
