Faith In Silence

I wait quietly before God, for my victory comes from him. He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress where I will never be shaken. [Psalm, 62.1-2]

Let all that I am wait quietly before God, for my hope is in him. [Psalm 62.5]

Man, David was on a roll writing this Psalm! But what is it about waiting quietly before God? I think that is the most difficult thing I have ever attempted to do! Either I fall asleep or feel compelled to say something. Waiting quietly is hard to do... especially when I face difficult times, hardships, or great need!

Perhaps we spend entirely too many words on faith. Perhaps we would actually exercise more faith by shutting up than by saying something! ...?

...?

...?

Faith in silence. Now, there's a concept worth pondering!

Father, help me to shut up!
