Truth Can Be Trusted

What are worthless and wicked people like? They are constant liars... [Proverbs 6.12]

You know, it seems this proverb sums up every worthless person ever. The flagship character trait of every worthless person I can think of is that they are liars.

The value of truth is not to be underestimated. The difference between a  good person and an evil person is often summed up in this one characteristic: whether or not they tell the truth.

I know from personal experience that no one wants to be around a liar. The greatest problem with most liars is that they have lied so much that they can no longer differentiate between truth and lies. They are deceived by their own falsehood. Their words no longer mean anything to themselves - how in the world can they mean anything to anyone else?

There may be no characteristic more clearly unlike God than lying. While many words may sum up the nature and character of the Almighty, "truth" is certainly among them.

Why is truth so important? Because it can be trusted! Maybe this statement is no great revelation, but, "truth can be trusted."

Father, thank You that Jesus informed us that He is "the way, the truth. and the life..." I know He can be trusted!
