Keep It Coming

I freaked out a bit yesterday on the grace/works issue. Thanks “bear” for your input – please keep it coming. Actually, I am happy to have this place to ‘vent’ and get other ideas as well. If, as Christians, we do not occasionally have frustration or confusion I wonder if we are truly learning anything at all. I have learned to appreciate others’ questions (and, yes, even doubts) about the Word because it causes me to pause and think myself.

In Jeremiah today there are a lot of strong words against God’s people who have turned away to idols. I was particularly amused by chapter 14 verses 8-9 where the people ask God if He is also confused like they are. Whoa!

Paul begins his letter to the Thessalonian church in today’s NT reading. Pure joy is quite evident by the author because of the church’s far-reaching Christian witness. And isn’t that just the way it should be? Should our lives not speak so loudly of our faith and love that our words are unnecessary?

God help us live out our faith. Let it be that others experience You in us.
